A family from Virginia has gone viral for parents Carolyn Cousin and Cameron Butts naming their *six children names that are, "creative variations of the same root 'Cam' ":
πCameron
πCamreon
πCam'Ron
πCamarion
πCamryn
π*Carmyn ('Cam' is still within Carmyn)
The children are clearly named after their father πCameron, who sweetly, "before he even became a dad, knew that if he had a daughter, he wanted to share a name with her, which became Camryn."
When the Cam's mother introduced her “six pack,” with their names on TikTok, the video took off, with thousands of reactions, many of them questioning the choice:
“Girl please say ur kidding"
“There are enough names in this world that no one in the same family should have to share one with their siblings. This should be illegal.”
To the Cam's mom, the criticism is confusing as she views the tradition as a lighthearted family legacy. She says her daughter Camryn looked at TikTok and was confused by the comments. "She always says to me, ‘We love our names.’” Carolyn says her children have nicknames but, "When I use their full names, they know exactly who I’m talking to. Somehow, it just works out!"
I think naming one's children the same or almost the same names is very interesting. π€ I really like the same name idea π‘ but more so for middle name rather first names. I like with the Butt's family (who remind me similarly of Jennifer Love Hewitt's family, whose children all have the same middle name) the kids aren't all just named Cameron or Cam, now that would be really crazy. π³ The variations of πCameron are better choices. ππΎ And it's really wonderful and cute π₯° that the children love sharing the same name in part — that's what should matter the most.
