JD Vance Announces Name Of His Newborn Son

The Vice President of the ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธUnited States of America, JD Vance, recently shared on Instagram the arrival of his fourth child with wife Usha Vance — a son named: ๐Ÿ“›Alec Neel ๐Ÿ’™

The writer of the piece of the historic presidential baby name announcement says: "the choice may feel classic, the name Alec is far less common than it once was," and points out, "Alec’s arrival is also a rare moment in modern U.S. political history. He is the first child born to a sitting vice president in more than 150 years. The last vice president to welcome a child while in office was Schuyler Colfax, whose son was born in 1870. Alec joins older siblings Ewan, 9, Vivek, 6, and 4-year-old Mirabel."

๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’'s all-about-the-name ๐Ÿ“›Alec:

I've always loved the name ๐Ÿ“›Alexander ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ or any diminutive of it, so I think ๐Ÿ“›Alec is a great name,  ✔strong (although less serious than its lengthy original name) but ✔chic (a cooler version of the already cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž nickname ๐Ÿ“›Alex).

☔๐Ÿ“›IRN RATING OF ๐Ÿ“›Alec: ๐Ÿ‘ OR ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™/10

๐Ÿ“‘Apparently, there's rumors that baby Alec's name was initially intended to something different yet very familiar to us all... Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice hears the newborn almost had a very different—and far more political— name. “J.D. floated the idea of naming the baby ๐Ÿ“›Donald,” one Washington insider tells Naughty But Nice. “He thought it would be the ultimate tribute to President Trump. J.D. knows the President appreciates loyalty, and he believed it would be a meaningful gesture.” According to sources, Usha wasn’t buying it. “She shut it down—politely, but firmly,” another insider reveals. “Usha wanted their son’s name to reflect their family, not make a political statement. She wasn’t about to turn her newborn into a headline before he could even walk.”

๐Ÿ˜ฌ One ๐Ÿ“›Donald in the White House (actually there are three ๐Ÿคฏ total: Trump, one of Trump's son's name is Donald Jr. and JD Vance's middle name is Donald! ๐Ÿฅด) is enough. ๐Ÿ˜…

As for Alec Vance's middle name: ๐Ÿ“›Neel — it is a Hindi name that means "๐Ÿ’Žsapphire blue." Second Lady Usha Vance is ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณIndian and Neel is a nice name to pay homage to her heritage.

NAME OF THE DAY: Abraham

Today is the anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's assassination in 1865, so I decided to talk about the name: Abraham.

Abraham is a Hebrew name that means 'father of many' according to Behind The Name. It has Biblical origins: "Abraham was originally named Abram but God changed his name. (Genesis 17:5)"

The name Abraham is definitely an old-fashioned name and surprisingly is still being used today. From the time the most famous "Abe" (Lincoln) died, up until 2022, Popular Baby Names says there have been over 115k baby boys given the strong, heroic name.

Very interestingly, Abraham can be used as a first or last name, however it being a first name is 58% higher.

⭐FAMOUS & ๐Ÿ“NOTEWORTHY ๐Ÿ“›ABRAHAMS:

๐Ÿ“›Abraham Setrakian ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป (T.V. show character on The Strain)

๐Ÿ“›Abraham Quintanilla (father of late ๐ŸŽค singer Selena)

♀️Female Version of ๐Ÿ“›ABRAHAM:

๐Ÿ“›ABRAHAMA

๐Ÿ’ญI never heard a feminine version of Abraham until researching the name in depth. It's so rare only one girl was named it so far. ๐Ÿคฏ

What Did The "S" Stand For In President Harry S. Truman's Name?

The "S" in President Harry Truman's name stood for nothing but simply being an "S." Surprising, because we're all accustomed to seeing a middle initial in someone's full name stand for an actual name, but not in Truman's case.

According to history.com: "Truman’s parents gave him the middle initial S to honor his grandfathers, Anderson Shipp Truman and Solomon Young, although the S didn’t stand for a specific name."

That's so interesting and cool really, especially since Truman was born in 1884. It will be intriguing to see if in the future, having a single letter as a middle name, perhaps becomes a name trend.

NAME OF THE DAY: Donald

Since President Trump's name has been all over the news the weekend I started this blog and I decided to make my first name post on his: ๐Ÿ“›Donald

The name Donald derives from the Scottish Gaelic name ๐Ÿ“›Domhnall and means 'ruler of the world' according to the name website Name of the Year. That of course is a very fitting name for the President of the United States (interestingly, JD Vance, the Vice President's middle name is ๐Ÿ“›Donald also).

Donald was surprisingly never a popular first name for a boy to be named even when Trump became president the first term in 2016 - 2020. Name Census cites just under 3k newborn boys were given the name Donald.

I personally am not a fan of the name ๐Ÿ“›Donald. It's a boring name. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพ‍♀️ It's not even a boring but classic name (like 'John' and I do like the name John). I briefly met a Donald but he went as Don (I found out later he didn't go by Donald & I always wondered, how did he get the name Donald?) He did not "look like a Donald" (but did "look like a Don").

Before Donald Trump put the name Donald into the spotlight with his presidency, whenever I thought of the name Donald, I thought of like most people, the cartoon ๐Ÿฆ†duck, Donald Duck. However, Donald Trump is certainly now the most famous Donald of all time.

⭐FAMOUS & ๐Ÿ“NOTEWORTHY ๐Ÿ“›DONALDS:

๐Ÿ“›Donald Winnicott ๐Ÿง  (child psychoanalyst)

๐Ÿ“›Donald Nicholl ๐Ÿ“บ / ✍️ (t.v. producer / screenwriter)

๐Ÿ“›Donald Gee ๐ŸŽฅ (actor)

♀️Female Version of ๐Ÿ“›DONALD:

๐Ÿ’ญI like the feminine version more than the masculine version. Do-nal-da has a certain ring to it.๐Ÿ‘Œ
