Baby names influenced by September 11

Today is Patriot Day and the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Nancy's Baby Names (a very underrated name blog, who years ago interviewed me for a 📛name 📝interview entitled: 'How do you like your name, Sidra?' [unfortunately it has been omitted 😕 but fortunately I have screenshots 📸 of it that I will post one of these days 👌🏾] ) has an 🤔intriguing 📄piece on her website in honor of September 11, 2001 (RIP to the innocent victims whose lives were lost) — where she breaks down the names influenced by the tragedy. 

Nancy explains that a "handful of conceptual names" gained ⏩traction and 📈popularity after 9/11 —  those four names being: 📛🗽Liberty, 📛⚖️Justice, 📛🦅Freedom and 📛🔔Independence.

☔IRN📛's 🗣️Take: "I never thought about name trends after 9/11 so this is all very new to me. 🤫 But I'd already heard of a couple of the names that rose after 9/11 like: Liberty (I recently found out this is a Puritan name 😱. I like it for a 💓girl more) and Justice (I went to 🎓college with a stand-up 👏 male classmate 😎coolly named this! And Justice has been one of my favorite female names since high 🏫school. I also love the 🎥movie 🎵Poetic Justice where the main character has the name. I love it equally for 💙boys and💓girls). But I've never heard of Freedom (outside of 'Free' the former ❤BET📺 106 & Park host, which was her stage name. Free is nice and strong 💪 but it can have a 😉risqué connotation too...I like it for 💙boys more) or Independence (I like the nickname for it more: 'Indie'. I like it more for a 💓girl) used as first names until now. 😮 So to answer Nancy's question: 📛Justice is my favorite abstract noun name, followed by 📛Liberty, 📛Independence and lastly 📛Freedom. They're all wonderfully inspiring names to have however!"

Behind the Name dates the name 📛America tracing back to the 19th century for being used as a first name.  Nameberry says on the very uncommon unisex name: "Given to children of both sexes as far back as colonial times, this carries a lot of baggage. However, parents continue to take the risk. Actress America Ferrera may have inspired some families to choose the name. Ferrera's Honduras-born mother shares her unusual name."   

America Ferrera made the name America popular as a first name in America. America says on being her mother's namesake, “I’m named after my mother. In Latin America, April 14 is the Day of the Americas, and my mother was born on April 14, so my grandpa named her America.” Growing up she disliked her first name and preferred that people call her by her middle name, ‘Georgine.'

I'm a big fan of 📍place names📛 so I think the name 📛 America is super interesting and admirable to give/have for a first name. 👌🏾

💭I like the masculine version of America. I actually knew an Americo! 🤯 He was a deacon / instructor at my childhood church. I thought his name was very cool and it's one of those names that always stuck with me because it's that rare.
