NAME OF THE DAY: Charm

๐Ÿ“›Charm is a really charming ๐Ÿ˜˜, very cute ๐Ÿฅฐ name that is word (part of the well-known phrase: "3️⃣third time's the charm") name first.

Dictionary.com defines Charm as:

a power of pleasing or attracting, as through personality or beauty;

a trinket to be worn on a bracelet, necklace, etc.;

something worn or carried on one's person for its supposed magical effect

Behind The Name identifies ๐Ÿ“›Charm as a feminine name and for ๐Ÿ’—girls, from the English word charm meaning "the power or quality of giving delight or arousing admiration."

๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’ sees ๐Ÿ“›Charm as leaning more for girls to be named the ๐Ÿ€lucky name. ๐Ÿ“›NB๐Ÿ’ says Charm, "started to rise out of obscurity in the 2010s. Like Dream and True, Charm could be just one celebrity baby away from becoming a big trend. In fact, the ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บAustralian YouTube family, The Norris Nuts๐Ÿฅœ have a daughter/sister called Charm, born in 2019, after which the number of Charms born in the US increased ๐Ÿ“ˆ by 40%. Given to 88 girls in a recent year it is probably more popular than people think." ๐Ÿ“›Charm as a ๐Ÿ’™boy's name, "peaked for boys at #6878 ๐Ÿ“‰ in 2025," ๐Ÿ“›NB๐Ÿ’ mentions.

๐Ÿ“California and ๐Ÿ“New Mexico are where the most Charms reside.

I love ๐Ÿ“›Charm. It's too adorable. I like it for a ๐Ÿ’—girl's name — but love it so much more so for a ๐Ÿ’™boy's name because of ๐Ÿ‘‘Prince ๐Ÿ“›Charming ๐Ÿ˜ duh! The only ⬇downside with the name ๐Ÿ“›Charm is the not so cute association with the ๐Ÿงปtoilet tissue brand Charmin... ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพ‍♀️ But besides that hiccup ๐Ÿ˜ฌ ๐Ÿ“›Charm is a pretty, perfect ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ name for a boy or girl.

Adora: the most adorable name ever!

I recently came across literally the most adorable๐Ÿฅฐ name ever: ๐Ÿ“›Adora

But no it's not short for the word: Adorable! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Adora is the short form of ๐Ÿ“›Adoracion  which means: adoration in Spanish. Behind The Name explains, "this name refers to the event that is known in Christian tradition as the Adoration of the Magi, which is when the three Magi presented gifts๐ŸŽ to the infant Jesus✝ and worshipped him."

๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’ says Adora is, "A name that would lavish your child with adoration, a princess name--as in Princess Adora of She-Ra: ๐Ÿ‘‘Princess of Power."

๐Ÿ“California and ๐Ÿ“District of Columbia are where the most Adoras live.

I love ❤️ the name ๐Ÿ“›Adora — it's just too cute of a name especially if using it as a ๐Ÿ‘‘princess name (FYI I knew of ๐Ÿ—กShe-Ra growing up and I never realized her name was Adora! ๐Ÿคฏ) for a little ๐Ÿ’—girl. But it's also very precious and special if using it for the ๐Ÿ™spiritual meaning behind the wonderful name.

FAMOUS & ๐Ÿ“NOTEWORTHY ๐Ÿ“›ADORAS:

Billie Jean, Diana, Annie & Susie: Michael Jackson Songs Featuring Female Names

๐Ÿ’Legendary ๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿฝ entertainer extraordinaire ๐Ÿ‘‘Michael Jackson sang a multitude of hit ๐ŸŽผsongs — four of which I will be discussing — as they feature the first names: ๐Ÿ“›Billie Jean๐Ÿ“›Diana๐Ÿ“›Annie and ๐Ÿ“›Susie

"She told me her name was Billie Jean," Jackson sings of a beautiful woman with movie star looks. However, Billie Jean is not only a looker but a liar allegedly, accusing a man of being the father of her son.

The name ๐Ÿ“›Billie Jean (excluding ๐ŸŽพtennis' Billie Jean King) is forever associated with a woman being the ultimate homewrecker. But Billie Jean is a badass ๐Ÿ˜Ž name nevertheless. ๐Ÿ“›Billie Jean is obviously the names ๐Ÿ“›Billie (meaning: resolute protection, English, diminutive of ๐Ÿ“›Wilhelmina) + ๐Ÿ“›Jean (meaning: God is gracious, French, variation of ๐Ÿ“›Johanna) = the perfect name combination. ๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’ says Billie Jean peaked for girls in 1984 (Billie Jean the song was released in 1983) at #4498. Boyish Billie alone has become a popular name (#694 ranking in US Top 1000) while old fashioned Jean (on name charts since 1880) is "extremely well-used as a middle name," points out ๐Ÿ“›NB๐Ÿ’.

I love ๐Ÿ˜ the name ๐Ÿ“›Billie Jean and personally would not mind if I had been named it ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพ‍♀️ (quite possible too because my late father was a huge Michael Jackson fan, the song came out days before I was born and my late mother said the song was played for me when I was a ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพbaby ๐Ÿฅฐ). But with how shocking the story of the fictional Billie Jean is, perhaps having it as a first name would be too scandalous ๐Ÿ˜ฌ (at least during the 80s if a girl grew up named such). Billie Jean the song would not be the same if it were entitled only: Billie or just: JeanSeparately the names are fine but together they are a ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿพperfect powerhouse. ๐Ÿ’ฅ

"Dirty Diana," Jackson bluntly sings of Diana the fan of every musician, who likes boys in bands, knows when they're in town  — and waits backstage for them after shows hoping she gains stardom.⭐

Say the name ๐Ÿ“›Diana and most often think ๐Ÿ‘‘Princess right before. So for Jackson to have a racy song with the first name of a prestigous royal family member within is jaw-dropping. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ But no the song was not about the Princess of Wales! In an interview with Barbara Walters, Jackson shared the memory of a London concert with Princess Diana present: "I took it out of the show in honor of her royal highness. She took me away and she said, Are you going to do 'Dirty Diana'? So, I said, 'No I took it out of the show because of you.' She said, 'No! I want you to do it. Do the song.'"

In the US the name Diana is #243 in the Top 1000, making it a pretty popular name. ๐Ÿ“›Diana is of Latin origin and means: divine, originating from the Roman goddess Diana 'of the hunt.' ๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’ thinks "Diana is a gorgeous and still underused choice." Yet it is still more used than smiliar ๐Ÿ“›Diane, which ๐Ÿ“›NB๐Ÿ’ jokes, "middle-aged Diane has been overshadowed by the a-ending version of her name."

I really like the name ๐Ÿ“›Diana, it's a beautiful and timeless name. It definitely has a bit more oomph! than ๐Ÿค๐Ÿพslightly boring sister ๐Ÿ“›Diane. If Jackson's Dirty Diana were instead: Dirty Diane it would not be the same song. ๐Ÿ“›Diana was definitely the ✔right name choice to use. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

"Annie are you okay?" Jackson asks of distressed victim named Annie in his smooth song Smooth Criminal. That question sung by Jackson was, "inspired by Resusci Anne, the name of the model of doll used to teach CPR. Jackson combined the question trainees learn to ask, “are you OK?” with the name of the doll to create the iconic line," according to ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธAmerican Songwriter.๐Ÿ–Š

The name ๐Ÿ“›Annie is often a winsome (think Little Orphan Annie) nickname for ๐Ÿ“›Ann —  which means: grace (deriving from ๐Ÿ“›Hannah in Hebrew). "Annie is one of the most open and optimistic, the-sun'll-come-out-tomorrow type of name. It strikes a nice old-fashioned-but-jaunty chord that still has appeal," swears ๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’. It ranks at #191 in US Top 1000 and has been a Top 20 name from the 1880s to 1907.

๐Ÿ“›Annie is an adorable name but maybe too... childish? ๐Ÿค” At least to use as a first name. I like it mainly as a nickname to the more serious: ๐Ÿ“›Ann๐Ÿ“›Anne or girly ๐Ÿ“›Anna. Jackson again, made the correct name choice in choosing ๐Ÿ“›Annie: "Anna are you okay?" or "Ann/e are you okay?" No, both sound off. ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿพ‍♀️

๐Ÿ“›IRN RATING OF ๐Ÿ“›Annie๐Ÿ‘ / ๐Ÿ‘Ž OR ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—/10

"Susie got your number and Susie ain't your friend," Jackson warns of seductive woman who is out to kill, and ends up stabbing ๐Ÿ”ช someone, in: ๐ŸฉธBlood On The Dance Floor. ๐Ÿ’ƒ

The name ๐Ÿ“›Susie (meaning: lily, of Hebrew origin) is usually short for ๐Ÿ“›Susan (or ๐Ÿ“›Susannah). ๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’ claims, "In the 1950s and 60s, Susie was the name every little girl wanted for her very own," — and it might be — "off its fashion peak but it's still cute and perky." Susie ranks #970 in the US Top 1000.

๐Ÿ“›Susie is simple yet cutesy when used as a real life name and I like it just okay ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ  but it doesn't seem like it would be the name of a femme fatale ๐Ÿ‘„   yet it somehow it works well (over ๐Ÿ“›Susan, too dull ๐Ÿฅฑ and ๐Ÿ“›Susannah, too peppy ๐Ÿ˜ƒ) in Jackson's dark ๐Ÿ˜ˆ song.

Fruit For Thought: Apple, Cherry, Fig & Pumpkin As Names In Forbidden Fruits Film

๐ŸApple, ๐Ÿ’Cherry, ๐ŸŒณFig and ๐ŸŽƒPumpkin are not only names of fruits — but the names of four friends (and ✨witches๐Ÿง™‍♀️๐Ÿง™๐Ÿผ‍♀️๐Ÿง™๐Ÿฝ‍♀️๐Ÿง™๐Ÿป‍♀️) in new ๐ŸŽฅfilm Forbidden Fruits

The names of these characters as fruits are very clever ๐Ÿง  and really fun. ๐Ÿค— I like some more than others ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพ‍♀️ but as a whole, I love ๐Ÿฅฐ the idea ๐Ÿ’ก of their names matching in a sense. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ

These fruity, cutesy names aren't however just made up names for a movie
— they're all ๐Ÿ˜ฎ very real first names used for ๐Ÿ‘ถbaby ๐Ÿ’—girls in real life:

๐Ÿ“›๐ŸApple: "When people talk about unique baby names, Apple is often one of the first examples they mention. Apple made international headlines when Gwyneth Paltrow chose this wholesome fruit name for her daughter. Many have called it ridiculous, but we have to admit, we find it appealing enough to list as one of our top cute baby names," says ๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’

๐Ÿ“›๐Ÿ’Cherry: "Sweet Cherry remains remarkably underused - at its peak in 1948. The unsavory slang meaning no doubt goes a long way towards explaining its fall from grace," says ๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’

๐Ÿ“›๐ŸŒณFig: "Fig was the unlikely name of a beautiful character in Curtis Sittenfeld's Man of My Dreams. Better bets: Plum or even Apple. Still, you might consider Fig as an unusual nickname for any more formal F-starting name, from Frances to Fiona," says ๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’

๐Ÿ“›๐ŸŽƒPumpkin: "A common name for orange-colored cats. Fun fact: the word pumpkin is derived from the Greek pepลn, translating to "large melon,"says ๐Ÿ“›Nameberry๐Ÿ’

๐Ÿ’ญIf I could personally ⏪re-name๐Ÿ“› the characters (I'd keep ๐Ÿ“›๐Ÿ’Cherry ✔ & ๐Ÿ“›๐ŸŽƒPumpkin ✔) but for the rest  I'd pick the names of my ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพfavorite fruits: ๐Ÿ“›๐Ÿ‘Peach and ๐Ÿ“›๐ŸŠTangerine (or ๐Ÿ“›Nectarine). ๐Ÿ˜

❄️Snow is from the English word, derived from Old English snฤw❄️Snow is also a surname. ๐Ÿ“›

The most ❄️Snows live in ๐Ÿ“Vermont ๐Ÿฅถ and ๐Ÿ“North Carolina.

Nameberry๐Ÿ’ describes ❄️Snow as: "brisk, fresh, pure, evocative -- and magical. A haunting middle name choice."

NAME OF THE DAY: Jubilee

๐Ÿ“›๐ŸŽ‰Jubilee is a fun, word name that means many things:

๐ŸŽ‰Jubilee was "first recorded in 1350–1400; Middle English iubile, iubilee, from Middle French jubilรฉ, from Late Latin jลซbilaeus, from Greek iลbฤ“laรฎos (with ล and ฤ“ becoming u and i by assimilation to Latin jลซbilฤre “to shout for joy”), from Hebrew yลbhฤ“l “ram, ram's horn, ram's horn used as a trumpet, trumpet, jubilee."

๐ŸŽ‰Jubilee recently ranked #103 on Nameberry's Top Unique Names list (๐Ÿ“: "the top unique names are those that rank right below the official list of the US Top 1000 Baby Names. Most of these top unique names, ranked 1001 to 2000 on the US list, are given to between 100 and 200 babies a year. That means they strike a good balance between too popular and too unusual"). I'm surprised ๐ŸŽ‰Jubilee is not further along on the name charts. ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿค” Names.org says: "๐Ÿ“›๐ŸŽ‰Jubilee was first given to 5 or more babies in the year 1975 when it was given as a first name to 9 new born babies. The highest recorded use of the first name Jubilee was in 2015 with a total of 229 babies."

The places where the most ๐ŸŽ‰Jubilees live are not the party cities one would think (New Orleans or Las Vegas) but ๐Ÿ“California and ๐Ÿ“District of Columbia.

"While relatively uncommon as a personal name, ๐Ÿ“›๐ŸŽ‰Jubilee  has maintained its appeal among parents seeking names that convey happiness and significance, particularly in communities with strong biblical or historical connections," Names.org suggests. While Nameberry thinks ๐ŸŽ‰Jubilee has a "joyous and jubilant aura, but it wouldn't be an easy name to carry, what with all that pressure to be a living, breathing, 24-7 party." ๐Ÿฅณ

I love the name ๐Ÿ“›๐ŸŽ‰Jubilee! It's a too cute ๐Ÿฅฐ name that has great and significant meanings behind it  plus a joyous, positive vibe surrounding it. ๐ŸŒŸ

FAMOUS ๐Ÿ“NOTEWORTHY ๐Ÿ“›๐ŸŽ‰Jubilees:

NAME OF THE DAY: Penny

With news of the production of the US penny not being made anymore, I will discuss the antiquated name: ๐Ÿ“›๐Ÿช™Penny

Behind the Name notes on ๐Ÿช™Penny as a first name: "Diminutive of Penelope. It can also be given in reference to the copper coin (a British pound or an American dollar are worth 100 of them), derived from Old English penning."

Nameberry on ๐Ÿช™Penny"Like Peggy and Patsy, the kind of zesty moniker young Judy Garland would sport in her early let's-put-on-a-show flicks. A Top 200 choice in England and Wales, Penny could be considered a word name, as in the copper coin used in England and the US, and as a musical choice, thanks to The Beatles song, Penny Lane."

๐Ÿช™Penny is a pretty popular name for girls and women in the states of ๐Ÿ“Maine and ๐Ÿ“California.

Name nerds' comments on ๐Ÿช™Penny on Behind the Name include: "classic" "youthful" and "simple."

๐Ÿช™Penny was #747 on the most Popular Baby Names in 2024 for girls. Nameberry is hopeful for a resurgence of the old-fashioned name: "It fell out of favor (and the Top 1000) for a while, but has recently rebounded by reentering the charts in 2013. Expect it to continue gaining traction on the heels of Penelope."

I disagree with Nameberry that ๐Ÿ“›๐Ÿช™Penny will rise in popularity. ๐Ÿ“ˆ I think it'll stay where it's at on the name charts or drop in popularity. ๐Ÿ“‰ ๐Ÿช™Penny is a cute enough (though plain), unproblematic name (although... why name a kid a name that means one cent? ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพ‍♀️There's plenty more worthy ๐Ÿ’ฐmoney names๐Ÿ“› like: ๐Ÿ’ตCash/Kash, ๐Ÿ’ตWealth, and even ๐Ÿ’ตMillion (mainly boy names but could be for a girl too) ) but I don't think it cuts it in 2025 or beyond  to dramatically become more used as a first name (in the US at least), and go above #747.

๐Ÿช™Penny for your thoughts๐Ÿ’ญ: ๐Ÿค”Perhaps ๐Ÿ“›๐Ÿช™Penny is a bit too simple for modern parents to embrace and give the passรฉ name to their child... and that's perfectly okay. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ
