NAME OF THE DAY: Kitt

To add to the previous Name Of The Day entry of Eartha, upon research of the name made famous by Eartha Kitt, I re-discovered her daughter was named after her as: Kitt

Kitt Shapiro is Eartha Kitt's only daughter. On why she named her daughter her last name: "She named me Kitt because she wanted to be sure that her name lived on." I think that is so endearing and super special because baby girls are rarely named after their mothers.

Kitt interestingly is not only a last name but also a unisex first name derived as nicknames for Katherine and Christopher (which is from the Greek name: Khristophoros and means 'bearing Christ').

I think the name is very cute but I prefer Kitt being used for girls over boys. I see Kitt and I think kitten immediately (all this time I sillily thought the meaning of Kitt had to do with kittens/cats... 😹), which is a soft, delicate creature, so I feel a baby girl being named Kitt (in Kitt Shapiro's case it fits perfectly since her mother played Catwoman at one point) fits more.
